Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko WIdodo (Jokowi) received an honorary traditional title from the Sultanate of Deli in Maimon Palace in Medan, North Sumatra Province, Sunday.

President Jokowi and First Lady Iriana departed for Medan for a working visit on Sunday morning, Bey Machmudin, a presidential spokesman, said in a statement, here, Sunday.

The presidential plane took off from Halim Perdanakusuma air force base on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. local time, and landed at Kualanamu international airport in Deli Serdang District, North Sumatra, at 9:40 a.m.

Members of the presidential entourage included Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Coordinator of the Presidential Special Staff Teten Masduki, Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono, Military Secretary of the President Trisno Hendradi, and Commander of the Presidential Guards Major General Suhartono.

From the airport, the President and entourage proceeded to the Sultanate Palace to receive the honorary title.

In the evening, the Head of State will officially open the 27th National Quran Recital Contest in Medan.
