Jakarta(ANTARA News) - Indonesian teak wood furniture products are growing in demand in the United States, the Chicago office of the Indonesian Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) said.

"It was shown in a potential transactions over teak wood furniture worth US$1 million and trial order for US$324,480 by seven U.S. importers," head of the ITPC in Chicago Billy Anugrah said as quoted by the Trade Ministry here on Wednesday.

The transactions took place at an exhibition of Casual Market 2018 held at Merchandis Mart, Chicago from September 25-28 this year.

"The market of outdoor furniture in the United States grew 6 percent a year and Indonesia should take advantage of the growing demand," Billy said.

Casual Market is the world`s largest exhibition of outdoor furniture attended by 90 companies and 250 exhibitors from various countries.

Indonesia takes part in the exhibition through cooperation between ITPC Chicago and the Consulate General of Indonesia (KJRI) in Chicago and two Indonesian exporters PT Evoline Furniture Industry and PT Indoexim International.

The annual exhibition has lasted over the past 4 decades . This year is the 6th times Indonesia taking part in the exhibition

The Indonesian Pavilion recorded around 100 potential visitors including wholesalers and retailers.
