"Prime Minister Lee and I agree to continue to give a push to digital economic cooperation. Nongsa Digital Park in Batam launched early this year has continued to expand and there are already digital technology companies there,"Jokowi said in a joint press statement after the Annual Leaders Retreat with Prime Minister Lee on the sidelines of the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank 2018 here on Thursday.
The cooperation will make Batam a "digital bridge" of Indonesia, he said.
"On the other hand cooperation in digital and e-commerce training also continues to be intensified that the human resources of the two countries especially Indonesia are ready such as financial technology development, industry 4.0," he said.
The two leaders discussed development of the Kendal Industrial Park they commissioned together in 2016.
"Currently there are already 43 investors including from Singapore. I hope similar cooperation could be developed in other special economic areas," Jokowi said.
President Jokowi and PM Lee had since morning that day had a series of agenda from tete-a-tete, Annual Leaders Retreat Indonesia-Singapore, and joint press statement.
Routine meeting between the two countries is aimed at strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation.
