The four flood-affected sub-districts were Stabat, Secanggang, Tanjungpura and Sei Lepan, Noto Atmojo, head of the emergency and logistic unit of the Langkat BPBD, said here, Friday.
In Stabat, floodwaters reaching a height of between 30 cm and 100 meter, submerged a total of 719 homes among other things located in Kwala Begumit village, Mangga village, and Ara Condong village.
In Secanggang, flooding affected at least 401 families among other things in Kepala Sungai village, Perkotaan village, Karang Gading village, and karang Anyar village.
An elementary school building, a mosque, and nearly 114 hectares of rice fields were also flooded in Secanggang.
Floods also inundated 286 homes in Tanjungpura and 21 others in Sei Lepan.
A total of 1,427 homes have been affected by the flooding in the four sub-districts since early this week.
The local agriculture office has deployed several officers to monitor the condition of flood-affected farming areas in Langkat and help local farmers affected by the natural disaster.
