Mataram (ANTARA News) - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Puan Maharani confirmed that the disbursement of funds for housing repairs for victims whose houses were severely damaged by the earthquake in West Nusa Tenggara could be taken up by the community at BRI.

"The money is already in the account, but we don`t give it in the form of cash. Later, the money will be deposited in the bank, taken through a community (Pokmas), so that the community can utilize it based on their needs," Puan Maharani said after the coordination meeting on the reconstruction and rehabilitation assistance for earthquake victims in the office of Governor of NTB in Mataram City, Wednesday.

Present at the meeting were Maharani, Military Commander Marshal Hadi Tjahjano, National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian, NTB Governor Zulkieflimansyah, Head of BNPB Willem Lameng, affected Regent / Mayor, NTB FKPD, OPD Head and other relevant agencies.

He said the process of disbursing aid amounted to Rp50 million intended for residents whose houses were severely damaged, after the government carried out the process of simplifying the collection, from those who had to meet the requirements of 17 sheets shortened with only one sheet to be processed.

"Why should it be like that? So that this process works well and is not difficult, through non-individual Pokmas," he said.

According to Maharani, for the first stage, the government will complete verified Pokmas that are spread in the affected districts / cities.

"Alhamdulillah there are 472 Pokmas that have been verified in 7 districts / cities. Most of them have got their money in the account. What is clear is that the community can rebuild their houses," explained Maharani.

Meanwhile, related to the construction of houses for the community, Puan said the construction can`t be done at once, but will be done in stages.

"Indeed, the reconstruction and rehabilitation process is given a deadline of six months. But it can`t be the case because reconstruction takes one year or two years, so everything can go well," he said.
