Bontang, E. Kalimantan, Oct 29 (ANTARA News) - State-owned port operator, PT Angkasa Pura I (AP I), said it has set aside Rp500 billion to expand three airports.

The Transport Ministry has handed over the operation of the three airports to PT AP I, Chief Executive of PT Angkasa I Faik Fahmi said here on Sunday.

Faik Fahmi said the three airports - Sentani air port would need Rp300 billion, Luwuk airport Rp60 billion and Samarinda airport Rp190 billion for the expansion.

The airports need expansion and revamping to meet the standard of AP I for normal operation, he said.

He said the company will pay for the entire cost of expansion and modernization.

He said there are three airlines which will serve flights from and to the Samaranda airport . The three airlines include Garuda Indonesia, Lion Air and Express Air.

Lion Air plans to serve the first flights with three routes from Jakarta, Surabaya and Makassar to the APT Pranoto airport of Samarinda (PP).

Garuda Indonesia will start serve the route linking Samarinda with Jakarta and Express Air between Yoygakarta and Samarinda (PP).
