Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained Deputy House Speaker, identified by his initials as TK, after naming him a suspect in a graft case related to special allocation fund.

"TK will be detained in the first 20 days at the KPK`s detention house at the KPK building Kavling C-1 Jakarta," KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said here on Friday.

The anti-graft body detained TK after questioning him for nine hours on Friday.

TK said he will be cooperative to follow the legal process at the KPK.

"One thing that I want to say is that no matter how sophisticated is the human engineering, Allah`s engineering is the most perfect. This means that I will follow and respect the legal process at the KPK," he said.

The KPK named TK a suspect on Tuesday (Oct 30) for allegedly receiving a gratification of Rp3.65 billion related to the revision of the 2016 state budget law allowing the allocation of fund to the Kebumen district government.

He has been charged with violating article 12 letter a or article 12 letter b or article 11 of Law No. 31/1999 concerning corruption eradication as amended by Law No. 20/2001.

If found guilty, he could be sentenced to up to 20 years in jail and fined up to Rp1 billion.
