Based on the results of the ramp check on 117 planes of different types, they all are declared airworthy, chief of aeronautic product sub-directorate within the Directorate of Airworthiness and Plane Operation Kus Handono said in a press conference here on Wednesday.
"From the results of ramp check we found that all the planes are airworthy," he said.
The planes which underwent ramp check include one Boeing 737-300, two Boeing 737-500, 57 Boeing 737- NG (New Generation), 11 Boeing 737 Max 8 planrd, 11 ATR-72 planes and eight Airbus 32 planes0.
The ramp check was conducted in the past seven days in 10 airports including those in Jakarta (Cengkareng), Kualanamu Medan, Padang, Bali, Makassar, Manado, Surabaya, Sorong, Balikpapan and Batam.
A special ramp check was also conducted on Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes, which are the same as Lion Air JT 610 which crashed in Karawang waters, West Java, on Oct 29. All the planes are declared airworthy.
To date, 11 Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes are operating in the country. with 10 units operated by Lion Air and one by Garuda Indonesia.
