Jakarta, (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo met with a number of heads of district administration discussing various issues mainly economic development.

"Thank you for coming. I can see many among you coming from far away district areas including Sangihe, Papua, Aceh, Aceh Timur, Donggala," the president or Jokowi as he popularly known said welcoming the heads of district areas at the Merdeka Palace here on Monday.

Jokowi explained the prevailing condition of the country`s economy amid the global economic crisis .

"I believe we all know that the global economy is not favorable for now," he said.

There are economic crisis in Turkey, Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela with inflation as high as more than a hundred percent, he added.

There is also raging trade war which has no sign of receding between China and the United States, he added.

Inflation was well under control at 3.23 percent, he added.

"I believe all of you know the relations between economic growth and inflation. This is important," the president said.
