Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Ministry of Finance will immediately implement the 16th package of economic policies, especially concerning the tax holiday facility and foreign exchange control through the tax incentive, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said.

"We are ready to implement the regulations of law, including policies, that we will discuss with the ministry of industry concerning the tax deduction for vocation, research and others for electric vehicles," she said at a press conference held to announce the 16th Economic Policy Package at the Presidential Palace here on Friday.

She said the fiscal instrument used at present was aimed at boosting industrialization in the framework of developing the industrial sector in Indonesia to become more complete from upstream to downstream.

"The fiscal instrument in the form of a tax holiday that has been expanded will soon be realized in the form of an increased number of standard classifications of Indonesian business areas (KLBI). We will immediately issue the revised ministerial regulation (PMK)," she said.

Regarding the tax holiday through the Online Single Submission (OSS), the minister said she hoped that through the simplification, investments would increase.

"We saw after the simplification that more than Rp160 trillion worth of investments were recorded within just six months. We hope they will continue to increase," she said.

Minister Mulyani said those coming through the OSS would be immediately given a tax holiday, while examination would be conducted later.

"Examination will be done after investments happen and so it is hoped many more will support the initiative and will immediately realize their investments," she said.

Regarding foreign exchange control through the tax incentive, the minister said her office would cooperate with Bank Indonesia (central bank), the Directorate of Customs and Excise and the Directorate of Tax.

"Exporters will be given a final tax incentive for the interest of their deposits that are placed in Indonesia in the form of rupiahs or foreign currencies, as well as a lower PPh (income) tariff," she said.

She said cooperation from various parties was needed because there would be an administrative sanction that would be imposed for businessmen who could not conduct exports.

"So far, the Directorate of Customs and Excise in cooperation with Bank Indonesia conducts a policy of forcing the repatriation of export income to Indonesia," she said.
