Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II signed an investment loan agreement worth Rp1.5 trillion with infrastructure financing firm PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI) to improve air services.

PT Angkasa Pura II Finance Director Andra Y Agussalam signed the agreement with PT SMI Director Edwin Syahruzad here on Wednesday.

The loan will be payable in 10 years.

"AP II warmly welcomes the signing of the cooperation agreement. Hopefully, the credit facility from PT SMI will be able to maximize and expedite the development of infrastructures at the airports managed by AP II," Agussalam said.

He expressed hope the signing of the credit agreement will facilitate the development of infrastructures in the operational area of AP II.

He said he was optimistic that AP II will be able to develop airports including their infrastructures and facilities to provide the best services to airport service users.

On the air side, AP II is focusing on developing and rejuvenating runways, taxiways, aprons and other supporting facilities, while on the land side, it is focusing on the construction and development of terminals, parking lots, accessibility and other supporting facilities.
