Jakarta, Nov 23 (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Ambassador to Uzbekistan A.A.G. Alit Santhika has said he fully supports cooperation in tourism promotion between Antara Digital Media and the Provincial Administration of Namangan in Uzbekistan.

"I strongly support the recent cooperation agreement between Antara Digital Media and the Provincial Administration of Namangan in Uzbekistan. This collaboration will make people of both countries know each other through the exchange and dissemination of information," Santhika said in a statement received by Antara here Friday.

According to the ambassador, such cooperation will improve understanding of Uzbekistan people about Indonesia and vise versa.

As a part of the cooperation agreement, Antara Digital Media will partner with PT. Optoscreen Indonesia to install 50 videotrons in major cities in Uzbekistan. These devices will showcase information about Indonesia to the people in Uzbekistan.

Earlier, the authority of the Namangan Region of The Republic of Uzbekistan and PT IMQ Multimedia Utama (Antara Digital Media) have signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) to promote tourism potentials in the two countries.

The MoU was signed by Governor of Namangan Region Khayrullo Kh. Bozarov and Chairman of Antara Digital Media Darmadi in Namangan City on November 19, 2018.

"We are very enthusiastic about the role of Antara Digital Media as the company will help promote tourism potentials and investment opportunities of Namangan and Uzbekistan," Khayrullo Bozarov said.

He also reiterated that the cooperation between the two parties could be expanded to various fields, including promoting and developing foreign trade, investment, as strengthening business circles of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Indonesia.

According to Darmadi, Antara Digital Media will help promote all the potentials of the Namangan Region and Uzbekistan through the media network owned by Antara, especially digital media.

"Some outdoor media will be installed in a number of provincial capitals. Besides that, some TVC indoor media will also be installed in public areas, including airports, train stations, hospitals, office buildings and shopping centers," Darmadi noted.

Antara Digital Media together with SME International Trade Association of Malaysia (SMITA) organized the delegation from Malaysia, Indonesia, and China to help Uzbekistan to open its market to Asian countries.

Thomas Soo, head of the SMITA delegation, added that with the new economy transformation of Uzbekistan initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, he is optimistic about the future of the country.

"I strongly believe that the future GDP growth of Uzbekistan will be somewhere between seven to nine percent. We are honored to be invited by the Namangan Administration to promote the potentials businesses," Soo said.
