The tidal flood began at 11.08 a.m., with flood water level reaching 10-15 centimeters in Pluit and 5-10 centimeters in Kamal Muara, the Jakarta Provincial Disaster Mitigation Board (BPBD DKI) said on its Twitter.
"To handle (the tidal flood) on its own, BPBD DKI Jakarta is coordinating with the village-level administration and the North Jakarta water management sub-office to put sacks of sand, particularly in River Adem, Pluit village-level administration, Penjaringan sub-district," the BPBD noted.
By Monday evening, the flood water had not subsided. However, no residents have evacuated their homes.
