Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Floods claimed one life each in Probolinggo District and Riau Province while rendering another missing in Probolinggo, East Java Province, on Monday evening.

The victims in Probolinggo were Siti Munawaroh, 19, and Akbar Maulana, 10, the residents of Andung Biru Village, Tiris Sub-district, Ricky, an officer of the Probolinggo disaster mitigation office, stated here, Tuesday,

Munawaroh`s body was found, while Akbar Maulana is still missing.

The flooding was triggered by incessant rains that caused the surrounding rivers to overflow their banks and trigger landslides in several areas.

Six houses, three shops, and a small mosque suffered serious damage; one home incurred slight damage; while a bridge collapsed, Ricky stated.

In Kampar District, Riau Province, Sazia Sapana, a four-year-old girl, was swept away by the flood, and her body was later found by a local fisherman, Adjunct Commissioner Hendrizal Gani informed the press in Pekanbaru, Tuesday.

Over the past two months, three children had been swept away by floods in Riau, he reported.
