The completion of the 741 km-long toll road connecting Jakarta in western Java and Surabaya in East Java Province was expected to boost connectivity and movement of people and goods on Java Island, Jokowi stated.
The four new sections of the Trans-Java toll road are Ngawi-Kertosono of the Wilangan-Kertosono segment, stretching 37.9 km; Jombang-Mojokerto of the Bandar-Kertosono section, extending 0.9 km; relocation of the Porong-Gempol toll segment, stretching 6.3 km; Gempol-Pasuruan of the Pasuruan-Grati segment, spanning 13.65 km.
The government is integrating toll roads with industrial, economic, and tourism zones, the president noted.
Thanks to toll roads, several investors are interested in investing in Ngawai, East Java Province, Jokowi remarked.
Members of the presidential entourage comprised Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, State Enterprises Minister Rini Soemarno, and Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi.
