Jakarta, Jan 13 (ANTARA News) - Indonesian Citizens and Shipcrew Community (WNI-ABK) in Taiwan declared support to the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair number 01, Joko Widodo-Ma`ruf Amin.

Based on a press release received in Jakarta on Sunday, the declaration was held at Donggang Port, Pingtung, Taiwan, Sunday (Jan 13).

The declaration was attended, among others, by the Deputy Director of Law and Advocacy for the National Campaign Team (TKN) Joko Widodo-Ma`ruf Amin, Hermawi Taslim, and Deputy Secretary General of the DPP Nasdem Yulisa Baramuli. The event was also enlivened by the presence of artists from Indonesia, Ageng Kiwi and Roman Dman.

Representative of Indonesian Citizens in Taiwan, Kasidin, said that the support of overseas migrants in Taiwan was to the presidential and vice presidential candidate pair Joko Widodo-Ma`ruf Amin, considering that they had benefited greatly from the policies of President Joko Widodo`s administration.

"We would like to thank Mr. Jokowi for his performance. Alhamdulillah because of Mr. Jokowi`s policy, we have better facilities, such as salary increases and administration arrangements in Taiwan," he said.

Indonesian citizens working in Taiwan believe that there has been much evidence of the success of President Joko Widodo in developing Indonesia.

They hope that in the future the Government can provide more convenience for Indonesian migrant workers, such as immigration matters when returning to Indonesia.

"Immigration administration in Taiwan and in Indonesia is made easier, so that we are safer when going back to Indonesia," he said.

Indonesian citizens who are workers in Taiwan form several associations such as the Indonesian Seafaring Gathering Forum (FOSPI) and Bolo Dwehe who are known to have strong family ties.

They also expressed their gratitude to the representatives of the Indonesian Government in Taiwan, specifically the Indonesian Economic and Trade Office (IETO) in Taipei, which has helped many of them overseas.

"Thank you to IETO for connecting our tongues to the Government so we received the Hasan Wirayudha award. Thank you to everyone," Kasidin said.

Deputy Secretary General of the Nasdem Party, Hermawi Taslim, in her remarks to Indonesian workers in Taiwan said that the support of Indonesian citizens in Taiwan would boost a considerable voice for the pair of Joko Widodo-Ma`ruf Amin, in the 2019 presidential election.

Based on the survey results published by the survey institute in Jakarta, this week concluded, the electability of Joko Widodo-Ma`ruf Amin`s partner was 54.9 percent, while the electability of the Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno pair was 34.8 percent, and voters who had not chosen or "undecided voters" as much as 9.2 percent.
