The defendant was lawfully and convincingly guilty of committing an electoral crime in accordance with General Election Law No. 7 of 2017, judge Suparna stated.
The court also imposed a fine of Rp7.5 million on Ngadiyono, with a four-month probation period, or face additional two months in jail if he fails to pay the fine, the judge remarked.
The panel of judges said using the state facility for campaign is a violation of the election campaign ban in accordance with the law. The other violation is using a place of worship for election campaign.
"According to the legal fact disclosed, the defendant has met (one of) the elements," Suparna added.
