The event, held by the South Korean government, is a chance for Indonesia to introduce its culture and creativity among the people of South Korea, Director General of National Export Development of the Trade Ministry Arlinda said in a written statement released on Tuesday.
Hopefully, the event will lead to closer relations between the people of the two countries and will eventually have an impact on tourism, investment, and trade.
The South Korean government has appointed AKC as the organizer of the ASEAN Train.
Preparations for the event were discussed at the 11th annual meeting of the AKC Board of directors from Feb 15 to 19 in Seoul.
"Indonesia affirms its support and readiness to make the event a success. We will also cooperate with the Tourism Ministry, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the Creative Economic Board, and other relevant ministries to make further preparations," Director of Export Development Cooperation at the Trade Ministry Marolop Nainggolan stated.
Some 200 participants from ASEAN member states, who join the ASEAN Train, will visit Seoul, Busan, Gwengju, and Korea borders by train.
In each of the city, they will hold cultural shows and exhibitions of their respective country. By doing so, the people of South Korea will have good knowledge of ASEAN member states` culture.
AKC is an international organization set up by South Korea and ASEAN in 2008, with the aim of promoting trade, investment, tourism, and people-to-people contact between South Korea and ASEAN member states.
