Speaking with foreign journalists and representatives of international community and foreign embassies for a dialog on circumstances regarding Indonesia's democracy in Jakarta on Monday, Prabowo claimed that the inconsistencies in the vote data entry in the KPU's Situng was caused by "human order" instead of "human error".
Subianto was quoted in a press statement that ANTARA received on Tuesday morning as particularly highlighting the seemingly structural, systematic, and massive frauds in the 2019 general elections at the event taking place at his residence on Kertanegara Street no. 4, Selong, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.
“We have been involved in a very arduous and strenuous extensive political campaign and elections, and after the elections we have tried to engage the foreign press and community to give our side of the story," he said in his opening remarks at the meeting.
"In essence, we are trying to explain to the world and to Indonesia, of course, that what we experience this time in this election basically is a blatant and flagrant violation of basic norms of democracy." Subianto said.
This founder of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party further said that people could identify the breadth of the election frauds through the 'blatant' abuse of power on the police and other government institutions such as intelligence bodies.
"All these are well known of course. They always tell us, 'give us proofs'[yet] they are the law enforcement agencies. We do have a lot of proofs and reports. The violation of the voting sheets, the voting papers which have been punched before the election. In some cases [they were] discovered in Malaysia," he said.
Representing the National Committee to Elect Prabowo-Sandi (BPN), Subianto stressed that he regret for having seen the election frauds such as this in Indonesia, especially since this world's third most populous democracy has fought and chosen for democracy in 1998.
"I am just going to say here as I have stated in many events publicly on TV that democracy is the only system known in human history until now that can enable the peaceful transfer of power compared to all other systems," he said.
Subianto emphasized that democracy is the only guarantor of peace in the political life of a nation, as much as it marks the maturity of a country.
“[Democracy is] a mark of maturity. A mark of civilization. Otherwise the change of power usually becomes pure physical and in many times could be very brutal and violent. This is what we always try to avoid,” Subianto added.
On the other hand, Subianto explained that there are groups undermining the current democratic system in Indonesia by violating existing laws and threatening Indonesia's wellbeing.
"This is what is happening in Indonesia. The will of 267 million people of Indonesia is being violated and taken apart," Subianto said at the event which was also attended by his running mate, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, BPN Chairman Djoko Santoso, and BPN Campaign Director Sugiono.
Other top BNP figures who attended the event also included BPN Foreign Affairs Director Irawan Ronodipuro, BPN Debate and Material Director Sudirman Said, and BPN Board Supervisory Member Amien Rais.
