Jakarta (ANTARA) - A landslide buried tens of miners in a mining site located on the foot of Mount Pongkor, Bantar Karet Village, Bogor District, West Java Province, on Sunday, according to Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, spokesman of the Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB).

"Unstable land structures and incessant heavy rain have triggered a landslide on Mount Pongkor," Nugroho said in a statement on Tuesday.

Rescuers found five bodies of unidentified miners and three survivors, he added.

Search operations continued despite difficult terrain as the landslide site was very steep and on the mountain's foot.
