Jakarta (ANTARA) - State telecommunication operator PT Telkom Indonesia Tbk has decided to pay out dividends worth Rp16.23 trillion for the book year 2018 at its general meeting of shareholders.

"The meeting agreed to the ratio of dividend payments or a payout ratio at 90 percent comprising 60 percent or Rp10.82 trillion as cash dividends and 30 percent or Rp5.41 trillion as special dividends,” PT Telkom Indonesia President Director Ririek Adriansyah said here on Friday.

The remaining 10 percent or Rp1.80 trillion has been allocated as retained earnings.

The cash dividends and special dividends for the book year 2018 will be paid to shareholders on June 27, 2019, at the latest.

Shareholders who are entitled to cash dividends and special dividends are those put on the company's list of shareholders as of 04.15 p,m on June 13, 2019.

Based on the decision reached at the general meeting of shareholders, the company posted a net profit of Rp18 trillion last year, of which 90 percent will be distributed as dividends and 10 percent will be used to develop the company's businesses.

PT Telkom Indonesia Finance Director Harry M Zen said the dividend amount was set based on mature consideration.

"Based on our projection, although the amount of dividend being paid is high, our balance sheet will not be disrupted at all," he said.
