Koba, Babel, (ANTARA) - Three of four tin ore miners buried in landslides in the Block 8 area of B1 Hamlet, Central Bangka District, Bangka Belitung Province, have died.

"Three victims were found dead after a search was conducted by a team assisted by a number of residents," said Lubuk Besar police chief Ipda Samsul Bayumi in Lubuk Besar on Tuesday night.

He identified the three dead miners as Suri (38), Gapur (37) and Usman (25).

He added that the accident occurred on Tuesday around 15.00 WIB. Four people were reportedly buried, but one miner was reported to have survived.

"The identities of the three miners who died have been known, all of them are residents of the Lubuk Besar District," he said.

The police chief said the miners worked manually, without professional equipment.

"They were manual miners, and when it rained, the conditions of the cliffs became very unstable," he said.
