Jakarta (ANTARA) - The panel of judges of the Constitutional Court said that the security of the General Elections Commission's (KPU) online data tabulation center must be guaranteed.

"As a result, 'Situng', the KPU'S online data tabulation center, can only be accessed from the internal network, considering that the system is used as an information tool in the recapitulation and determination of election results," Judge of the Constitutional Court, Enny Nurbaningsih, said while reading out the decision of the electoral dispute trial at the Constitutional Court here on Thursday.

Nurbaningsih said that based on the applicable law, the KPU must submit all the information on the implementation of the elections to the public.

"To provide all the information to the public, the KPU uses Situng," Nurbaningsih remarked.

However, she stressed that the security of the system must be guaranteed for the implementation of the elections based on the principles of being direct, general, free, confidential, honest and fair.
