"I see the composition of young people likely get greater. The president certainly does not want to break the promise he has made. It may be said that he will not swallow his own saliva," The University of Bunda Mulia's political analyst Silvanus Alvin said.
Speaking to ANTARA here on Sunday, he argued that several figures joining the president-elect's
inner circle were young and professional young people as revealed by the presence of Wishnutama, CEO of Mediatama Television Net, and Erick Thohir.
Known as the founder of Mahaka Group, Erick Thohir himself was the chairman of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin pair's National Winning Team in the 2019 Presidential Elections.
These young figures were seen accompanying Jokowi at several important occasions.
They are professional and are believed to understand about what members of this country's younger generation, especially millennials, want, he said.
Thus, despite pressures from various parties, Jokowi would keep his promise because he had no longer had a political burden in his second leadership term by considering the fact that he was not able to run for president again in 2024.
According to Alvin, when he attended an invitation to the State Palace along with millennials, Jokowi hinted that he would make a decision which might have been considered taboo as long as it was correct.
It means that he would consider several members of this upcoming cabinet line-up were young people, he said.
Previously, President Joko Widodo indicated that he would inject fresh blood into the Working Cabinet II by including young ministers.
However, Jokowi has not yet announced the names of his cabinet members their those representing his coalition parties and professional backgrounds.
