Makassar, South Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Several arts students of the University of Hasanuddin (Unhas) will represent Indonesia in the Second International Dance and Vocal Contest "All Colours of Art" to be organized in San Marino, Italy, on November 1-4, 2019.

At the competition, the students will present a traditional Toraja dance choreographed by Matt Azmar and musical arrangement by Andi Musawir Kamil, Azmar remarked here on Saturday.

The university's students had participated in international contests several times and had won prizes.

"We are proud and pleased to be able to produce excellent dancers," he stated.

The Makassar-based university won a Golden Prize in the Fourth World Folklore Championship in Bulgaria in 2014 and stood first in the International Folklore Festival in Spain in 2015.

In 2012, it had won three trophies in the Nusantara Dance Parade held in Jakarta in 2012 and won the Honorable Mention Prize in the International Golden Karagoz Folkdance Competition in Turkey in 2011.

The organizing committee will offer 1000 euros for the best dance and vocal group carefully selected by an international jury during the Second International Dance and Vocal Contest "All Colours of Art" in Italy.

The International Dance and Vocal contest is open to groups and soloists of different ages and dance/vocal categories.
