Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia and the Indonesian Fintech Association (AFTECH) will hold the 2019 Indonesia Fintech Summit & Expo (IFSE) on September 23 and 24, 2019 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC). "OJK has always supported digital financial innovation in line with efforts to increase public financial inclusion. But we also consistently ensure that technology-based financial products and services do not violate regulations and always prioritize consumer protection," OJK's Head of Digital Financial Innovation Group Triyono Gani said in Jakarta Wednesday.

From the beginning, he explained, the FSA has supported the growth of the financial technology (fintech) industry and digital financial innovation through supervision and guidance, among others by issuing several regulations related to fintech that prioritize consumer protection without hampering innovation.

The holding of the 2019 Indonesia Fintech Summit & Expo, with the theme "Innovation for Inclusion", is a regulator's effort, in this case, OJK and Bank Indonesia, supported by AFTECH to encourage the development of the fintech industry and play a role in increasing public financial inclusion.

On the occasion, the Executive Director of Bank Indonesia's Payment System Policy Department (BI) Pungky Purnomo said that BI will also use the opportunity to publicize the QR Code Indonesia Standard (QRIS) which was officially launched last August.

"We see that this event, specifically the Fintech Expo, can become an event to provide education and understanding to the wider community related to the development of the fintech industry, especially in the digital payment system with a variety of products and services," Pungky said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of AFTECH Niki Luhur said that through the expo, AFTECH wanted to show the commitment of the fintech industry in supporting the target of achieving 75 percent financial inclusion in 2019 through various fintech solutions offered to Indonesians in line with the needs and lifestyle.

The expo will be the largest in Indonesia this year with more than 100 fintech companies which in recent years have presented various innovative products and technology-based financial services to the wider community in Indonesia, especially for the unbanked and underserved segments which so far has not been accessed by the conventional financial sector.

The exhibition is free for the public (online registration can be done through (www.expo.fintech.id/exporegistration). They can enjoy the exhibition and learn more about the development of the fintech industry in Indonesia, starting from the security of products and services to the advanced technology used by various fintech companies.

Furthermore, the fintech companies participating in the exhibition represent several sectors in Indonesia, namely fintech online loans, digital payment, wealth management, innovation digital and others. (INE)
