"First, I want to ensure that for tomorrow's inauguration, the Indonesian Police is ready to secure it," a spokesman of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police Sen. Comm. Argo Yuwono stated here on Saturday.
Yuwono has also appealed to the people to support the police’s all-out efforts to facilitate the smooth running of the event.
"As we have said before, we need public support for this five-yearly event of the presidential inauguration," he emphasized.
The inauguration of Joko Widodo-Ma'ruf Amin will be held at 14:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) at the Parliament Complex, Central Jakarta.
Some 31 thousand personnel from the police and Indonesian Military (TNI) will be deployed to secure the event and readied in three rings.
The first ring is the venue of the ceremony at the Parliament Complex that will be secured by the Presidential Security Force.
The second and third rings are the areas around the Parliament Complex that would be guarded by the military and police personnel.
Since representatives from foreign countries will attend the ceremony, the Jakarta Police has also readied security personnel to guard the guests. Related news: Thirty thousand personnel deployed prior to presidential inauguration
