Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Education and Culture, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, said that the quality of the younger generation needs to be improved in order to make Indonesia an advanced country.

"Without changing the next generation, Indonesia will not become an advanced country. Indonesia as an advanced country should be supported by superior human resources. This is President Joko Widodo's biggest vision," Education and Culture Minister, Nadiem Anwar Makarim, said in Jakarta on Wednesday.

All existing problems can be overcome by improving the quality of the new generations, he stated.

Minister Makarim would learn to understand the problems with regard to education in the country.

With regard to such problems, Indonesia ranks fourth.

"I will learn first from all the existing stakeholders, but I am sure it will not take long. The first stage is not to give a solution, but to learn about the conditions that exist in the field," he said.

What are the conditions of schools, students, administrations and the bureaucracy? From there, we will find solutions from technology and non-technology that can improve the quality of education, the minister remarked.

In addition, the minister would use the budget properly and appropriately.

"I cannot speak about the breakthrough, but it is related to technology and the millennial generation," he remarked.
