The 36-year old defendant, identified as Andrei Spiridonov, was found guilty of violating Article 111 Paragraph (1) of Law No, 35/2005 regarding narcotics.

Spindonov was accused of ordering 200 grams of Mimosa Hostilis Hidden Valley worth US$160 online, Public prosecutor Made Dipa Umbara said earlier.

When the order arrived at the Bali customs, officers assigned to the Renon Post Office checked the package seeing the white cardboard sent from the Netherlands.

When the package was checked it was found to only have an address of the recipient without a name.

Only recently, the Denpasar city police arrested a Russian national on charges of trafficking 521.11 grams of hashish.

"The suspect was arrested at Sunset Road, Badung, on October 1. We seized 521.11 grams of hashish from the suspect who got the contraband through an online order," Chief of the Denpasar city police Senior Commissioner Ruddi Setiawan said recently.

The police searched him and found six packets of hashish inside his backpack, he said.

A search was also conducted at his homestay but no evidence was found, he added.

The Russian admitted to selling the hashish after the buyer first transferred money into his bank account. He later waited for the buyer at the address they agreed upon.
