For my intervention yesterday, I was extremely sorry. Sometimes, in a situation, I act in defense of my government policies
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Ambassador of Cambodia to Indonesia Hor Nambora extended an apology for his conduct that interrupted a press conference held by opposition leader, Vice President of the Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP), Mu Sochua, in Jakarta.

"For my intervention yesterday, I was extremely sorry. Sometimes in a situation, I act in defense of my government policies," Nambora noted at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Complex in Jakarta, Friday.

On Wednesday, November 6, Sochua had held the press conference facilitated by the Kurawal Foundation, a Jakarta-based non-profit organization that promotes press freedom and democracy.

She issued a press statement to reiterate that exiled CNRP leaders, including acting president of the party, Sam Rainsy, and Sochua herself, will not budge from their plan to return home on November 9, when Cambodia marks its 66th Independence Day.

On behalf of Cambodia's current regime, Nambora expressed objection to Sochua’s press conference in which the attendees comprised some national and foreign media.

During the conference, Nambora and Sochua got involved in a debate on whether the Cambodian government would arrest Sochua and Rainsy after they passed through Thailand's border into Cambodia.

"Of course, this is since we have a law on the issue, and she knows," Nambora stated while addressing the media during the press conference.

Today, Nambora visited the ministry complex to meet the summon of Director General of Protocol and Consular of Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry, Andri Hadi, yet desisted from divulging details of their meeting.

"Today, I am very happy that we had a good meeting with the official of the ministry. I came here to express my government’s praises and positive feedback for the sound cooperation and manner of dealing with this issue," Nambora explained.
