Jakarta (ANTARA) - No Indonesian had fallen victim to a chain of earthquakes that struck Laos on Thursday morning, according to the Indonesian Foreign Ministry.

"Until now, we have not received information on any Indonesian national falling victim to the earthquakes. A total of 297 Indonesian nationals currently live in Laos," Director of Indonesian Citizens and Legal Entities Protection of the Foreign Ministry Judha Nugraha noted in a brief message.

The Indonesian Embassy in Vientiane, Laos, has urged Indonesian nationals to remain vigilant and contact the embassy through hotline numbers +856 20 55 97 05 20 to get in touch with Mrs Tatiana Handayani and +856 20 55 97 0581 to connect with Mrs Inke H. Dinesia to obtain additional information on the quake.

A series of earthquakes, respectively measuring 5.7, 4.6, and 6.1 on the Richter scale, hit Laos on Thursday morning.

The epicenters of the quakes were located in Xayabouri, the capital of Sainyabuli Province, located some 165.4 kilometers from Vientiane.
