We are apologizing for any inconvenience owing to the flight transferred from Halim Perdanakusuma to Soekarno-Hatta.Jakarta (ANTARA) - Operations at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in East Jakarta returned to normal on Thursday after all flight activities came to a standstill owing to massive flooding across Jakarta and the surrounding areas a day before.
"We are apologizing for any inconvenience faced when the flights were transferred from Halim Perdanakusuma to Soekarno-Hatta. The process of diverting flights ran well. Today, Halim Perdanakusuma is operating normally," President Director of state-owned airport operator Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin, noted in a statement.
When operations at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport were shut down on Wednesday, flights were diverted since Angkasa Pura II implements the multi-airport system under which the two airports can back one another.
No such problems were encountered with the airport facilities, equipment, and the runways at Halim Perdanakusuma, according to the result of checks undertaken by its management, adding that the runways are currently free of flooding.
