Jakarta (ANTARA) - An earthquake, measuring 6.4 on the Richter scale, shook Sinabang, Simeulue District, Aceh Province, on Tuesday, at 01:05:18 a.m. local time.

The epicenter of the quake was located 2.29 degrees northern latitude and 96.24 degrees eastern longitude at a depth of 13 kilometers, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) stated.

The quake had no potential to trigger a tsunami.
