The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) and several Muslim organizations in Jakarta released a petition which strongly condemned the acts of terror and crimes against humanity that the Hindu extremists have repeatedly committed against minority Muslims in India.
"These acts of terror evidently violate the principles and values of human rights as stipulated in the charter of human rights. And, these all occur owing to the government's negligence," said Deputy Secretary General of MUI's Central Executive Board Nadjamuddin Ramly who read the petition here on Thursday.
The Hindu extremists who have committed the acts of terror and crimes against humanity against innocent Muslims in India belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and they are the loyalists of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The MUI and Indonesia's Muslim organizations demand the Indian Government to serve justice for all members of Muslim communities in India and revoke the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) because it is fundamentally discriminatory in nature.
The CAA has evidently triggered the acts of violence against Muslim minority in the country, the MUI and Muslim organizations revealed in their petition.
The MUI and Muslim organizations also demand the Indonesian Government to force the Indian Government to take responsibility for the human rights violations against Muslims in the country as the implementation of the human rights charter.
All Indonesian Muslims are also demanded to boycott Indian products if the notorious Hindu extremists continue their acts of terror against Muslims and crimes against humanity in the country. The Indonesian Government is even demanded to cut diplomatic ties with India.
In addition, the Indonesian Muslims should also show their spirit of Muslim Brotherhood to their Muslim brothers and sisters in India by giving them moral and financial supports.
They also echo a call for the United Nations to send its fact-finding team to India, and to take stern actions against those responsible for committing crimes against humanity there in accordance with international laws and conventions.
The Indian Government is also demanded to respect the UN Security Council resolution that has mandated a plebiscite to decide the fate of Jammu and Kashmir, and cease its blockade on the Muslim-dominated territories.

The passage of the Citizenship Amandment Act (CAA) in December 2019 has sparked protests and clashes. It has also been criticized by the UN human rights office which highlighted that it is "fundamentally discriminatory in nature." (UN News, 2019).
"The amendment to the Citizenship Act gives priority to Hindus, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians resident in India before 2014, but excludes Muslims, including minority sects," the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) revealed in a statement.

"The amendment to the Citizenship Act gives priority to Hindus, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jains, Parsis and Christians resident in India before 2014, but excludes Muslims, including minority sects," the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) revealed in a statement.
