Our men have conducted investigation to see the person who has stolen thousands of masks,Palangka Raya, C Kalimantan (ANTARA) - Police were investigating the theft of thousands of masks kept at the warehouse of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office on Saturday.
Chief of the Palangka Raya City Police Senior Commissioner Dwi Tunggal Jaladri said early Sunday he had sent his men to the scene to investigate the case.
"Our men have conducted investigation to see the person who has stolen thousands of masks," he said.
Based on the preliminary result of investigation, the masks stolen were old stocks from the Central Kalimantan Provincial Disaster Mitigation Board and other agencies for firefighters to combat land and forest fires in the province last year, he said.
The masks stolen included 2,000 units of masks bearing Sensi brand and 40 units of N95 masks, In total, the masks were valued at Rp42 million. .
Chief of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office, Suyuti Syamsul,who is also deputy chief of the Central Kalimantan COVID-19 Task Force, confirmed here on Saturday that nearly 6,000 surgical masks had been stolen from the warehouse of the Central Kalimantan Provincial Health Office.
The theft came to light on Saturday evening when an officer from the health office found the warehouse's closed circuit television (CCTV) switched off.
When the CCTV was turned on, it showed somebody had entered the warehouse.
