"A total of 792 patients died. The number of patients under surveillance reached 21,827, while those under monitoring totaled 230,411," Yurianto stated at a press conference at Graha BNPB.
The data indicated an increase, from those on the previous day. The number of confirmed cases rose by 347, while the number of deaths went up by eight.
Earlier, on Wednesday (Apr 29), the country had recorded 9,771 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 1,391 recoveries, and 784 deaths.
The government has examined oral swabs with various types of specimens reaching 94,599 specimens of 72,351 people.
Following examination, 10,118 people tested positive for COVID-19, while 62,233 people tested negative.
Yurianto stated that all provinces in Indonesia had been exposed to COVID-19, while 310 districts and cities were affected.
Jakarta recorded the highest spike in recoveries, at 46, and new confirmed cases at 82. In total, the confirmed cases in the capital reached 4,175, including 486 people having recovered, and 371 people having died.
After DKI Jakarta, West Java is the province with the second-highest number of positive cases, reaching 1,012, including new additional deaths on Wednesday.
