As per a circular issued by the Health Minister (Nomor HK.02.01/Menkes/313/2020), all citizens, including Indonesian and foreign nationals, arriving at each entry point need to follow quarantine procedures and undergo additional medical checks.
The medical checks include interviews, body temperature checks, COVID-19 symptoms test, saturation oxygen test, rapid test, or polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
In addition, upon arriving at the entry point, both Indonesian and foreign nationals are required to adhere to the protocols for COVID-19 prevention and control, including keeping a safe distance of at least two meters from other people, wearing masks, and leading clean and healthy lifestyles.
Meanwhile, Indonesian citizens returning from abroad need to carry medical certificates in English, which would be valid for seven days from the date of issue. The medical certificates will be validated by doctors at the Port Health Office at ports, airports, and border check points.
If a health certificate confirms its holder has tested negative for COVID-19 based on a PCR test, he/she will only be subjected to medical tests to check for symptoms or risk factors for the novel coronavirus disease.
The health official will issue a health alert card (HAC) to individuals concerned or monitored.
Indonesians citizens would be allowed to continue their journey to their final destinations after obtaining a health alert card. Indonesians returning from abroad are required to self-isolate for 14 days at their homes and submit the health card issued by the health office to chiefs of neighborhood associations and the chief of community units.
The certificate will be conveyed to the public health service center, which will monitor their health.
