Jakarta (ANTARA) - Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) scrutinized 32 ambassadorial candidates from June 16 to June 18, 2020, and has made its final selection, a commission member said.

“For decision-making (on the final list of candidates) at the House of Representatives' Commission I, it has been decided during the commission's internal meeting this afternoon," Abdul Kadir Karding, a member of Commission I, said here on Thursday.

The results, however, will remain confidential, and will be first discussed at the DPR's plenary session, he informed.

"The DPR Commission I’s decision is confidential, so we apologize (for not revealing the results). We cannot inform the public. First, the results will be conveyed to the DPR leadership (so as to allow them) to take a decision at the plenary session," he continued.

The 32 candidates have displayed strong capabilities and qualities as most have been career diplomats, serving at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he noted.

One or two of the candidates are non-career diplomats, but their capability and experience is very good, he said.

The names of the 32 ambassadorial candidates are as follows:

1. Chalief Akbar Tjandraningrat, candidate for ambassadorship to the People's Republic of Algeria, to be domiciled in Alger

2. Elmar Iwan Lubis, candidate for ambassadorship to the Republic of Iraq, to be domiciled in Baghdad

3. Hildi Hamid, candidate for ambassadorship to the Republic of Azerbaijan, domiciled in Baku

4. Rachmat Budiman, candidate for ambassadorship to the Kingdom of Thailand and UNESCAP, to be domiciled in Bangkok

5. Dr. Andri Hadi, candidate for ambassadorship to the Kingdom of Belgium, and concurrently Luxembourg and the European Union, domiciled in Brussels

6. Lutfi Rauf, candidate for ambassadorship to the Arab Republic of Egypt, domiciled in Cairo

7. Maj. Gen. (retd.) Dr. Imam Edy Mulyono, candidate for ambassadorship to the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, concurrently the Republic of Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, St. Lucia, Dominica, and St.Vincent & the Grenadines, domiciled in Caracas

8. Dindin Wahyudin, candidate for ambassadorship to the Republic of Senegal, concurrently the Republic of Mali, the Republic of Gambia, the Republic of Guinea Bissau, the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, the Republic of Gabon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, domiciled in Dakar

9. Mayerfas, candidate for ambassadorship to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, concurrently the OPCW, domiciled in The Hague

13. Dr. Ratu Silvy Gayatri, candidate for ambassadorship to the Republic of Finland and Estonia, domiciled in Helsinki

16. Dr. Desra Percaya, candidate for ambassadorship to the United Kingdom, and concurrently, Ireland and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), domiciled in London

17. Herry Sudrajat, candidate for ambassadorship to the Republic of Mozambique, and concurrently, the Republic of Malawi, domiciled in Maputo
