"The number of COVID-19 patients being treated at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital, until Tuesday (July 7) at 8 a.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB) increased by 55, from 699 to reach 754 people," Colonel Aris Mudian, spokesman of the emergency hospital, noted in a statement here on Tuesday.
In the meantime, the results of rapid test for 74 patients came reactive, an increase of 53 people, from 21 recorded on the previous day.
There was no patient under surveillance (PDP) or people under monitoring (ODP) at the hospital on Tuesday morning.
Overall, 828 patients, comprising 448 men and 380 women, underwent hospitalization at the Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital.
"The number of inpatients rose by 106 people, from 722 to reach 828 people," he stated.
The Kemayoran Athlete's House was officially inaugurated as a COVID-19 Emergency Hospital by President Joko Widodo on March 23, 2020. The hospital has a capacity of 12 thousand beds.
The government has tasked the Indonesian military's Joint Regional Defense Command I with overseeing the operation of four COVID-19 emergency treatment or quarantine centers: Wisma Atlet Emergency Hospital in Jakarta, Sebaru Island center in Thousand Islands in Jakarta, Natuna Island center in Riau Islands, and the Galang Island Emergency Hospital in Riau Islands.
The Wisma Atlet Hospital registered 5,611 inpatients since March 23 to date, while 151 patients were referred to other hospitals.
The total number of patients recovering from COVID-19 reached 3,602, while three people succumbed to the disease.
The Galang Island Hospital (RSKI) in Riau Islands, on Tuesday, treated 90 patients, comprising 63 men and 27 women. Of the total 90 patients, 17 people tested positive for COVID-19, 14 were PDP, and 59 were ODP.
"The patient count at the Galang Island Hospital as of April 12, 2020, had reached 350, including two patients referred to another hospital, 258 that were discharged, while no patient succumbed to the disease," he added.
In the meantime, a total of 41,406 Indonesian migrant workers, including cruise crew members, had returned home to Indonesia until now, while 4,361 people are still undergoing quarantine, and 37,045 people were allowed to return home.
Government spokesperson for COVID-19 Response Achmad Yurianto stated that the number of COVID-19 positive patients in Indonesia until Monday (July 6) at noon rose by 1,209, thereby bringing the total number of cases to 64,958, while 29,919 people had recovered, and 3,241 others succumbed to the novel coronavirus disease.
