Twenty-three fire trucks have been deployed and another one is on the way to the scene. Overall, 24 fire trucks have been fielded.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - A fire broke out at the Attorney General's office in South Jakarta at 7:10 p.m. local time on Saturday night, but no casualties or injuries were reported.

The fire started from the third floor of the building, located at Sultan Hasanudin Dalam Street, No. 1, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, and later spread to other floors.

At least 24 fire trucks were sent to the scene to put out the blaze.

“Twenty-three fire trucks have been deployed and another one is on the way to the scene. Overall, 24 fire trucks have been fielded,” head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Department, Helbert Plinder Luan, said.

The cause of the fire remains to be ascertained.

Firefighters were making every effort to extinguish the fire, Luan, who was present at the site, said.

Chief of the Kebayoran Baru Police Precinct, Commissioner Jimmy, said he had deployed his men to the scene to provide security.

"It is true that we are providing security on the front and back of the building," he said.

The police also regulated traffic in the vicinity of the Attorney General's office to ensure the smooth movement of cars while firefighters were trying to put out the blaze. (INE)
