Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati has said the realization of state revenues has reached Rp1,034.1 trillion, or 60.8 percent of the amended State Budget (APBN) target of Rp1,699.9 trillion, as of August 31 this year. The figure reflects a decline in income of 13.1 percent (yoy) compared to the same period in 2019, when revenues were pegged at Rp1,190.2 trillion, an increase of 3.2 percent from August, 2018, the minister said at a press conference here on Tuesday.

“There is a 13.1-percent contraction in the case of the realization on August 31, compared to last year's Rp1,190.2 trillion,” she informed.

The state revenue has dipped as revenue from tax has contracted by up to 13.4 percent (yoy) to reach Rp798.1 trillion, or 56.8 percent of the amended APBN target of Rp1,404.5 trillion laid down in Presidential Decree 72/2020, she said.

The finance minister specified that the state revenues comprise tax receipts of Rp676.9 trillion, or 56.5 percent of the target of Rp1,198.8 trillion. The figure reflects a decline of 15.6 percent (yoy) compared to the revenue of Rp802.5 trillion recorded in the same period of 2019.

The negative growth in tax revenues can be attributed to a contraction in the realization of its components, namely the Oil and Gas PPh, which has reached Rp21.6 trillion, or 67.8 percent of the Rp31.9-trillion target. The figure is down 45.2 percent compared to the revenue of Rp39.5 trillion recorded in the corresponding period of last year.

The realization of non-oil and gas taxes has reached Rp655.3 trillion, or 56.2 percent of the target of Rp1,167 trillion and a contraction of 14.1 percent compared to revenue of Rp 763 trillion recorded in August, 2019.

Meanwhile, realized customs and excise revenues have reached Rp. 121.2 trillion, or 58.9 percent of the Rp205.7-trillion target, reflecting a growth of 1.8 percent (yoy) compared to the same period of 2019, when the figure was recorded at Rp119 trillion.

The positive growth in customs and excise revenues was supported by the realization of excise, which reached Rp 97.7 trillion, or 4.9 percent higher than August last year and 56.7 percent of the target of Rp172.2 trillion.

On the other hand, the realization of international trade tax on excise contracted 9.3 percent to reach Rp23.5 trillion, or 70 percent of the Rp33.5-trillion target.

The state revenue was also supported by the realization of Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP), which, as of August, 2020, have touched Rp232.1 trillion, or 78.9 percent of the target of Rp294.1 trillion.

PNBP realization has also been in the negative zone, contracting 13.5 percent compared to the same period last year, when the figure stood at Rp268.2 trillion.

On the other hand, the state revenue from grants has increased significantly to Rp4 trillion from Rp0.5 trillion in the year-ago period. (INE)
