Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Attorney General's Office (AGO) detained Financial Service Authority's (OJK's) deputy commissioner for capital market II until Oct 31 after being named suspect in a graft case related to PT Asuransi Jiwasraya's investment fund management.

The suspect, identified by his initials as FH, was detained for 20 days following investigation as a suspect in the graft case on Monday (Oct 12).

"After we investigated him as a suspect to facilitate the settlement of the corruption offense case, we detain him at the Salemba detention house of the South Jakarta public prosecutor's office for 20 days, from Oct 12 to Oct 31, 2020," Chief of the Law Information Center of the AGO Hari Setiyono stated.

The AGO also detained another suspect, identified by his initials as PR, on Monday. PR will be detained for 20 days until Oct 31.

Six people have stood trial for their alleged role in the graft case that inflicted trillions of rupiah in state losses.

Four of the six defendants are former president director, former financial director, and former chief of investment and finance division of state insurer PT Asuransi Jiwaraya, and director of PT Maxima Integra.

The Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced the four defendants on Monday. Meanwhile, two other defendants -- owner of PT Hanson International Tbk and chief commissioner of PT Trada Alam Mineral Tbk -- are receiving treatment at a hospital for COVID-19.
