The ministry also registered 3,712 recoveries, bringing the total to 364,417, and 98 succumbing to the disease, thereby bringing the death toll to 14,540.
Indonesia also recorded a total of 56,461 COVID-19 suspects.
The COVID-19 cases have been found in the country's 503 districts in its 34 provinces.
DKI Jakarta recorded the highest additional positive cases, reaching 1,118, followed by 489 cases in Central Java and 476 cases in West Java.
The highest number of fresh cases within the past 24 hours was recorded in Jakarta reaching 989 cases, followed by 462 cases in West Java and 357 cases in Riau.
Meanwhile, Central Java registered the highest number of deaths at 28, followed by 14 in East Java, and 11 in Jakarta.
Three provinces recorded an increase of below 10 cases, while one province had no additional confirmed cases of COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Task Force continues to remind the public to diligently apply the 3Ms -- wearing a mask, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap -- in their day-to-day lives.
President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) announced Indonesia's first two confirmed COVID cases on March 2, 2020.
COVID-19 cases were first reported in Wuhan, China, in late 2019.
