On Sunday, Jakarta had recorded 975 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, the Jakarta Provincial Government reported on its corona.jakarta.go.id website.
The capital city registered seven people succumbing to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the death toll to 2,359, and the death rate at 2.1 percent.
The number of active cases reached 7,870, or down 156, from 8,026 on the previous day.
The confirmed case rate in Jakarta has stood at 8.3 percent, since the capital city reported its first two COVID-19 cases in early March this year.
In the meantime, the Indonesian Ministry of Health, on Saturday, recorded 4,262 fresh COVID-19 cases during the course of the past 24 hours, thereby bringing the case tally to 433,836 nationwide. The ministry also registered 3,712 recoveries, bringing the total to 364,417, with 98 succumbing to the disease, thereby bringing the death toll to 14,540.
Indonesia also recorded a total of 56,461 COVID-19 suspects.
The COVID-19 cases have been found in the country's 503 districts in its 34 provinces.
Jakarta recorded the highest additional positive cases, reaching 1,118, followed by 489 cases in Central Java and 476 cases in West Java.
The highest number of fresh cases within the past 24 hours was recorded in Jakarta, reaching 989, followed by 462 cases in West Java and 357 cases in Riau.
Central Java registered the highest number of deaths at 28, followed by 14 in East Java, and 11 in Jakarta.
