The newly inaugurated deputy ministers were Lieutenant General Muhammad Herindra (Deputy Minister for Defense), Edward Omar Syarif Hariej (Deputy Minister of Justice and Human Rights), Dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono (Deputy Minister of Health), Harvick Hasnul Qolbi (Deputy Minister of Agriculture), and Pahala Nugraha Mansyuri (Deputy Minister of BUMN I).
They also took the oath of office before President Jokowi.
Herindra earlier served as commander of the Army Special Forces Kopassus during the 2015-2016 period and later became commander of the Regional Military Command III/Siliwangi during the 2016-2017 period.
Hiariej, often called Eddy Hiariej, is a professor of criminal law at the Gajah Mada University, Yogyakarta. He became the youngest professor at the UGM Faculty of Law at the age of 37 and was one of the experts of the Jokowi-Ma'ruf 01 legal team at the Constitutional Court.
Meanwhile, Harbuwono is one of the first endocrinologists and diabetes molecular experts in Indonesia. He has served as a member of the Presidential Team of Doctors.
He earlier served as chairman of the Endocrine Metabolic Division, Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, the University of Indonesia Hospital.
Qolbi was earlier the treasurer of PB NU.
Mansyuri earlier served as president director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk, in addition to various positions at several BUMNs. From September 2018 to November 2019, he held the position of finance director at PT Pertamina (Persero).
From April 2017 to September 2018, he served as president director of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and he also had a long career at PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. Related news: President inaugurates six ministers, five vice ministers
