I have talked with friends in the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the local government. We have to support our MSMEs
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahudin Uno said the ministry will help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the sector to promote their products on the sidelines of the MotoGP 2021 event this year.

The event is scheduled to be held in Mandalika, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara in October this year.

"I have talked with friends in the Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and the local government. We have to support our MSMEs. This MotoGP should not be an exclusive event and we do not take side to MSMEs," Uno said in a statement here on Saturday.

The ministry will invite various parties to support MSMEs in their promotion, he added.

Uno disclosed there will be three programs to encourage MSMEs during the international sporting event and they will focus on innovation, adaptation, and collaboration.

"We have launched these programs, and today I motivate MSMEs to prepare themselves, and improve their business with the implementation of the MotoGP 2021 event, planned to be held in October this year," he said during a visit to the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (KEK).

During the visit, the minister also observed various products made by local MSMEs, such as pearls, woven clothes, pottery, and rattan products. (INE)
