This event is aimed at aiding for recovery in national economy as well as driving the MSMEs’s transformation into digital platformBandung (ANTARA) - Cooperative and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Minister Teten Masduki officially opened the West Java Culture and Tourism Festival 2021 (Jafest 2021) organized by four state university’s alumni associations.
The event is held in an effort to recover national economy by empowering MSMEs involved in each part of their activities.
“This event is aimed at assisting national economic recovery and driving the MSMEs transformation into digital platform. About 12 million MSMEs have been connected to the digital platform,” Masduki stated in Gedung Sate, Bandung on Sunday.
The most effective way to recover economy is by moving forward tourism sector, including creative economy, Masduki pointed out.
In addition, West Java province has extraordinary cultural properties, so they can be potentially developed in tourism industry, he added.
“There are many experiences. For example, many European countries have recovered from crisis though tourism. Tourism can immediately bring . fresh money,” Masduki remarked.
On the other hand, Head of Padjadjaran University’s Alumni Association Irawati Hermawan said that the 2021 Jafest is held both online and offline.
During the five day event, she added, the creative economy and MSMEs digital expo will also be held where a total of 500 MSMEs will participate.
“We have curated as many as 500 creative, starting from creative economy, MSMEs, to start up players who will perform online on digital platform. We expect the transaction will reach Rp5 billion to Rp10 billion during the event,” Irawati remarked.
The Jafest 2021 will be held in five regions, such as Bandung, Bogor, Depok, Cirebon District, and Garut District.
