According to BMKG’s forecast here on Saturday, torrential rains along with lightning and blustery winds can potentially occur in Aceh, Banten, Bengkulu, Jakarta, Jambi, West Java, East Java, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan.
North Kalimantan, Lampung, Maluku, West Nusa Tenggara, Papua, West Papua Barat, West Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, South-East Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, West Sumatera, and South Sumatra are other regions to also experience similar weather.
According to BMKG’s daily weather overview, Tropical Cyclone Seroja forming in the Indian Ocean — the southern part of Central Java — led to confluence and the deceleration area of elongated convergence from the southern coast of Central Java to East Java. It also produced a Low Level Jet across the western part of the Indian Ocean to the western part of Australia.
Meanwhile, Tropical Cyclone Odette forming in the Indian Ocean, especially in southwest Banten, produced a Low Level Jet across the Indian Ocean along the south-western part of Banten.
This condition triggered rain cloud growth around the area impacted by Tropical Cyclone Seroja and the Odette system.
The Tropical Cyclone Seroja and Odette also accelerated the wind velocity to more than 25 knots and wave height of 2.5 meters across the Low Level Jet. Related news: BMKG forecasts sunny, cloudy weather in most Indonesian regions
