"I hope that no one would need to use this newly-built hospital. I mean, lest the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases goes up,” he said here on Tuesday.
The inauguration ceremony of the new COVID-19 hospital was also attended by Aceh Governor Nova Iriansyah, deputy chairman of the Aceh Legislative Council (DPRD), Hendra Budian, director of building arrangement at the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Boby Ali Azhari, and director of RSUDZA, Isra Firmansyah.
Currently, the rate of national active COVID-19 cases is quite good, namely 6.5 percent, the lowest since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world more than one year ago, Monardo noted.
"This achievement is thanks to cooperation from all parties, and I invite all stakeholders not to be careless and to continue working to prevent the spread of COVID-19," he said.
He also expressed his appreciation for the construction of RSUDZA's COVID-19 hospital, which was completed within 46 calendar days by the PUPR Ministry.
Monardo said his agency will continue to undertake preventive efforts in cooperation with various parties until the number of COVID-19 cases in Indonesia, in general, and Aceh, in particular, drop dramatically.
At the event, Governor Iriansyah expressed his gratitude for the attention of the central government towards COVID-19 handling efforts in Indonesia's westernmost province. (INE)
