According to the Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry’s written statement, the assistance provided is in the form of 200 ventilators, 256 empty 50-liter-capacity oxygen cylinders, face masks, gloves, PPEs, and headgear, among other things.
"The aid was sent by air, and some other assistance will be sent by sea," the ministry revealed.
In addition, the Indonesian government had purchased 10 thousand oxygen concentrators from Singapore, of which 30 had arrived along with other medical equipment donated by the neighboring country.
On Friday, one thousand ventilators donated by Australia are also scheduled to arrive in Indonesia.
Indonesia, currently battling a drastic spike in COVID-19 cases, has received assistance offered by several countries, including the United States, the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, the Great Britain, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, India, and China
The aid being offered encompasses vaccines, medicines, and other medical devices.
Indonesia lauds the assistance offered by those nations, according to the ministry.
Cooperation and collaboration are principles consistently upheld by the global community, so that the world can together surmount over this pandemic.
On various occasions, Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi had reiterated the significance of global solidarity and cooperation to fight the pandemic.
"No one is safe until everyone is", the minister affirmed.
Earlier, the Japanese government had dispatched COVID-19 vaccines to help the Indonesian government fight the pandemic.
